Don't Lose Hope....
I just finished week 4 of my new challenge. I wouldn't be human if I wasn't disappointed with this weeks loss. ( I was down .2 lbs. ) I did have some womanly issues against me. :o) That is a total of 8.4 lbs this month. I worked out 5 days last week and logged in 21 miles. That's not too shabby. I am also very excited that I am able to to do the elliptical for at least 50 mins. and 15 mins on the stair glide. That is a great calorie burn. So I am going to brush myself off and back to the gym I go!!
One last thing.....A fellow blogger told me about a great program called Gympact. It is reward program that you can use on your smartphone. If you are going to work out, why not be rewarded!! But if you aren't going to meet your goals, you pay in the pot. Money is an excellent motivation!! Go to this link and sign up today!! They are offering $5 for signing up. (I'm thinking that is a Starbucks!) You must put in this referral code for the $5: EFAFranc
Have a wonderful week!!

5 Dangers of Diet Soda
September 2011 I vowed to quit drinking diet sodas. I was a diet pepsi-a-holic, and I knew that it wasn't helping my health. Until I stopped drinking them, I didn't realize how swollen in my face I was. Within weeks I could see the results. Every couple of months I allow myself to have a Diet Cherry Limeade from Sonic. {yummy!} That's about all the diet soda I have.

Loving the Elliptical!
{this week stats} {last weeks}
I was very excited to see the increase in total steps. And a total of almost 44 miles in one week!!
This is my personal best in steps and hope to continue to increase each week.
This week I increased my elliptical work out and decreased my treadmill walks. It is unreal how much more calories you burn on the elliptical then walking.
For example....
30 minutes of walking (3 mph) burns 147 calories
30 minutes of the elliptical burns 401 calories
I feel my endurance building on the elliptical. It works out so much more.
This week I added the stair glide machine. (?? real name) I watch an elderly lady do this machine for an hour everyday. I am lucky to do it for 15 mins!! lol
This month has been a personal best for exercise. I hope I can continue the pace. I know it is the key to a quicker weight loss.
Have a great week!!

Eat Wise, Drop a Size
Week 4:
Today once again was weigh in day. I just ended week 4 and I am pleased with the progress. (Any weight loss is good right?) I am happy to log a 2.2 lb. loss!!! With a grand total of 8.2 lbs since March 1st! I am not going to meet my first goal of 25 lbs by the end of the month, but hopefully by the eight week mark. ( I know, a little more realistic.)
I met all of my exercise goals this week. On the elliptical and treadmill I was able to log in 22 miles. I also had two NSV reached with my exercising goals. I was able to do 45 mins on the elliptical one day and also do two miles in 30 mins another time. When your in the shape I am in, this is very exciting!!
My Fitbit stats are expressive this week. I love the summary that it sends me each week. It really puts things in perspective!!
All my extra time has been focused on exercising, but I have been checking in on all of you as often as I can!! Keep up the hard work!!
Just remember......

Or in our case, small pounds. We can't get discouraged....just take one pound at a time!!

A new start.....
Pages only work if you a have a few things to say. I plan on making this a journey, therefore Healthier Lifestyle with Nonny was created!! This is just a post to transfer all that was said prior. Thanks for stopping by!
3/15/13 Another week has passed and I weighed today. I had a weight loss of 1.8 lbs. (Oh why, oh why does it come off soooo slow! I know, I know, 2 lbs a week is better, but when you have worked out more than ever, you want to see more loss.) I met my goal of walking at least 60 mins, which is about 3 miles a day. (except Sunday) I have now added Elliptical to my work out. When I first started, I could only do about 10 mins. Now I am at about 30 mins. What is really cool, is that 30 mins of elliptical burns more calories then 60 mins of walking. I will eventually walk less and do the elliptical more. Here's to another almost two lbs.! I got to move more rocks and by money jar has more money!!
3/14/13 Weight Loss Motivation Jars
3/12/13 I love how Fitbit gives me a weekly report. My stats look really good this week!
3/8/13 Today was my first weigh in day since March 1st. I was really nervous about it. Yes, I rely too much on what the scale says and knew if I hadn't lost, I was going to be really disappointed. I was very excited to show a 4.2 pound loss! It made all of the walking worth while!! I didn't meet my goal, but realistically, I did okay. I may need just a little longer to meet my first goal. My non-scale victory for this week was walking everyday for at least 60 mins. (3+miles) That is a total of 22 miles since March 1st. I am looking forward to another strong week!
3/6/13 I have battled my weight as long as I remembered. My mom was a petite 4 ft 10 in and always weighed around a hundred pounds. I haven't seen that weight since grade school. Growing up and being barely over 5 ft, I constantly battled my weight. Through school I was very active, so I did okay. After I my third child, my activity started dropping. We became involved in other areas that kept me very busy. And my love for food was my downfall. Through the years it creeped on to where I am today. I don't remember what thin feels like, I am determined to feel it again!
Yes, these pictures are rough! But what better way to see progress!!
Some of my goals for this year.....
1. Move everyday! While at gym 30 mins treadmill & 20 min elliptical (Increase as I get in better shape)
2. Drink Water! Can you believe I rather not drink water?!? Bad, Bad, Bad!
3. Not weigh everyday! I get so discouraged by slow weight loss. I forget that it didn't come on over night!
4. Eat out less! We live a fast paced life and eat on the go a lot. Home cooked meals are definitely more healthy.
5. To help motivate someone to reach their goal. (And get motivation in return)
6. I need to Realize....I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
